Christine Reese

Head of the Affiliate Investment Program

Christine Reese was appointed head of the affiliate investment program in July 2019, bringing over 33 years of financial services experience to the role. She manages the investment strategies and policies for the more than $30 billion of multi-asset class funds that consist of defined benefit, defined contribution, health, and pre-funding programs. Christine joined CalPERS in August 2013 as an investment manager within the same program area.

Prior to joining CalPERS, Christine was an independent consultant, collaborating with organizations such as BlackRock, State Street Bank, and CalPERS to plan and implement strategic investment initiatives. Earlier in her career, she held managerial roles in securities lending trading, cash management, product development, and investment accounting at BlackRock and Union Bank of California.

Christine earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of Delaware.
