Kelly Fox

Head of Investment Relations

Kelly Fox was appointed head of investment relations in January 2023. He oversees transparency and effective communication of the Investment Office’s objectives to internal and external audiences.

Before joining the Investment Office, Kelly led the CalPERS Stakeholder Relations Program for six years, collaborating with the public affairs team to provide project management and strategic outreach, and hold events with stakeholders. Prior to joining CalPERS, Kelly served as a fire officer for the Olympia Fire Department in Washington state. He was active with the firefighter’s union at the local, state, and international level. As president of the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters from 1996-2016, he chaired the Law Enforcement Officers’ and Fire Fighters’ (LEOFF) Plan 2 Retirement Board and represented LEOFF members on the Washington State Investment Board.

Kelly chairs the National Institute on Retirement Security Board of Directors and serves on the Public Employees’ Board of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
