Sustainable Design
- Heating and air conditioning systems use outside air and energy efficient systems
- Landscape design incorporates trees to provide shade, minimize water use, and reduce heat gain
- Raised flooring where electrical connections and cabling are located are used to reduce costs of future relocations
Construction Facts
- All work completed in 1986
- Concrete construction and the use of landscape material allow building temperatures to be more stable throughout the year
- Full-area building smoke detection system with a dry pipe fire sprinkler protection system to prevent accidental water discharge
- More than 4,000 yards of concrete used in construction
- One of the first energy efficient fluorescent tube installations using T8 lamps
- Raised floor system, allowing the computer cabling technology to be changed with minimal disruption (one of the first constructed in the mid-80's to have this feature, other than that normally found in data centers)
